That Independent talk w/ T.I. & Shy Glizzy

The DMV Rapper Shy Glizzy, part of the 300 Ent. movement and XXL Freshman talks with Tip about starting out with the whole DC Go-Go music tradition. Fighting Juvenile life for robbery and attempts, he started rapping and when he finally got home, he took his rap career to the next level. You have to always be true to yourself and not others. He sees himself as a leader and not a follower. Shy feels like he's still adjusting with one foot in and one foot out, of the streets that is. When the "Awwsome" record hit, that's when he knew he had made it because the record labels were on his heels to sign him. Staying independent and only signing distribution deals, he wanted to make sure he maintained as much equity in his talent and career. He has put a bunch of songs, videos and projects but also has maintained his realness. The street cats was his inspiration so the "get wit" shit, he was never with that.
